Our group just finished Beauty By The Book. Wow! What a great study! ... As the leader of our group, I have to say that this study has one of the best leader guides I've seen. We've done a lot of studies that have leader guides.

Laurie just came and spoke at our women's retreat in Shell Beach, CA. I don't even have words to explain what an awesome speaker she is AND what an inspiration she is to me. I bought a few of her CDs and listened to the one on "How I lightened up". Wow! It was great, too. I can't wait to listen to the others. She is so "real" in her stories and just has this gift for telling it like it is. Our church just completed the Beauty By The Book study. It was one of the most successful that we have had and was very well attended. Each week's homework material and Laurie's discourse kept our ladies attention and the desire to attend the next session. Needless to say, we had some great "across the table" discussions! I believe we all ended the study with a fresh new approach as to the purpose of being a Godly woman and biblically beautiful.

Our ladies loved having Laurie Cole as our retreat speaker! There were some who had never understood what God's grace really meant for them. We all either learned or were reminded that God's grace is personal for each of us and available to us for living our daily lives. I am doing There is a Season for the second time and I found this to be a study that emphasized application in my life, more so than the typical "women's Bible study" materials... I took this class the first time just prior to an undesirable move out of Texas. It taught me to have faith (confidence in God), even when I could not feel happy, secure, and in charge. And it prepared me to better handle the future in Louisiana, which would include a very challenging nine weeks working in our church shelter for Katrina evacuees. --Robin, LA
