Glo-ing and Growing: Spring Tsunami
by Laurie Cole, Founder & President
A tsunami of blessings hit Priority recently, and I feel led to glo (glorify God) on and on about it. Why? Because God has done great things, and He says to “publish His deeds” (Ps. 96:3). To not share what He’s done with you would be a sin of omission on my part. But I’m also sharing this testimony for you, because God wants you to receive a tsunami of His blessings, too.
To appreciate Priority’s recent tsunami, I need to share a little background with you. Six years ago in 2003, Janet Valentine was directing a women’s Bible study program at our church (
Sagemont
Church
in
Houston
). I knew Janet, but not well. So when she called and invited me to lunch, I had no idea her invitation would one day lead to a tsunami.
As we met for lunch, Janet invited me to write and teach a Bible study for her women’s group. Teaching was one thing. I’d done that for years. But writing was something else. I’d never done that before. At God’s leading, however, and in spite of my fears, I said “yes.” Several months later, Janet’s group and I had a blessed blast piloting There is a Season (TIAS), the study God faithfully enabled me to write. As a blessed bonus, our church graciously allowed us to videotape it. Looking back, I think that’s when Janet and I witnessed the first wave of God’s blessing although we would never have forecast a future tsunami.
In 2004, a handful of other women’s Bible study groups purchased TIAS, and Priority Ministries was established. By the end of 2004, 250 TIAS workbooks were purchased by women in four states. The Lord also began building Priority’s staff leading Lezli Busbee, Pam Henderson, Nancy Campbell, and Jan Hart to join Janet and me. Our common call? God’s invitation to follow Him and do things we’d never done before.
The next year (2005), a few more women purchased and participated in TIAS studies. God led Shanda Stiles to join Priority’s staff, and He used her to begin building our first online store (something she’d never done before). By God’s grace, I wrote and piloted a new study, The Temple (TEM). Still, no tsunami.
Priority’s online store was launched in 2006, and our resource sales jumped 367%. We were astonished by the growing waves of God’s goodness. That year the Lord also led Courtney Hays (Janet’s daughter) and Debbie Todd to join our staff and to accept His invitation to do things they’d never previously done.
Priority’s growth continued at a slightly slower pace in 2007. Stephanie Cole (my beloved daughter-in-law) joined our staff, and Beauty by The Book (BBB) was written and piloted that year. We had no clue a tsunami was coming.
The first significant waves of the tsunami appeared in 2008 when we received more than twice (220%) the number of orders for Priority Bible Studies than 2007. Women from 40 states and 1 Canadian province participated in TIAS, TEM, or BBB studies in 2008. Our staff was amazed by the rising tide of God’s obvious blessings.
Then last month, in February 2009, the tsunami officially hit. The LIFE Today television program with James and Betty Robison aired an interview with me about BBB. Our website visits skyrocketed, our online store sales went off the charts, and people from all over the world began contacting us requesting BBB resources. In one month we received 4.9 times more orders for Bible studies than our previous single-month high. For a small ministry like Priority, that’s a tsunami!
It blows my mind and humbles me to the core to think that in six short years Priority is equipping and encouraging women all over the world to love God most and seek Him first. It also leads me to ask, “How is this possible?” There is only one answer to that question: God. Like the five loaves and two fish He multiplied to feed thousands, nothing is impossible with Him. Our great God can even take a simple invitation to lunch and two very ordinary women and do something “exceeding abundantly beyond all we ask or think” (Eph.
3:20
). He is an all-powerful, tsunami-size God!
So, dear sister, what is God inviting you to do? Perhaps it’s something as simple as inviting someone you don’t know very well to lunch. Or maybe it’s something as scary as saying, “yes,” to a task you’ve never done before. Or could it possibly be that God is inviting you to receive the gift of salvation through Jesus, His Son? Whatever it is, will you accept His invitation? Will you follow Him by faith? And will you trust Him to enable you to do things you’ve never done before?
If you will, I cannot promise that you won’t experience some days of discouragement and doubt (I certainly have). But I can promise that someday you will experience not just one, but two tsunamis of epic and eternal blessing. The first: a six-word tsunami when you hear your Savior say, “Well done, good and faithful servant” (Matt. 25:23). The second: the reward He is preparing for you that “no eye has seen, no ear has heard, (and) no mind has imagined” (1 Cor. 2:9 NLT). God is inviting you to experience an eternal tsunami of His blessings someday. Will you accept His invitation by saying, “yes,” to Him today?

Jots from Janet
by Janet Valentine, Executive Director
Last weekend Laurie and I took a Spring trip over the meadow and through the woods to
Linden
,
Texas
for a Beauty by the Book Conference with some very precious people at
First
Baptist
Church
. As we drove, we saw dogwoods, redbuds, plum, and pear trees in bloom, and there were volunteer daffodils and spring flowers all along the roadways. It was stunning!

Bro. Jackie Stanfield
Bro. Jackie Stanfield, pastor of FBC Linden, interviewed Laurie on his radio broadcast one week before the conference, and he was also on hand to welcome everyone the first evening of the event.

| Praise Team |
Sherry Stanfield |
The women’s praise team and Women’s Ministry team led by Sherry Stanfield had been organizing and praying about this event for many months. God’s blessings that weekend were plentiful, and at the close of the conference, many women came forward and made commitments to become biblically beautiful women in their homes, on their jobs, and in their community.

Prayer time at Linden
We joyously welcome 47 new You Glo Girl! subscribers and 2 new Priority Partners from the Linden Women’s Conference. I love
East Texas
and the sweet folks who live in the Piney Woods. And I especially love the family of four living in
Nacogdoches
,
Texas
my daughter, son-in-law, and two grandbabies (who we were also blessed to spend time with that weekend) I guess you saw that one coming!
Please pray for Laurie, Debbie and me as we head to Bay Area Fellowship Church in Corpus Christi, Texas this month. Bay Area’s Glo Conference is going to be huge. Ask the Lord to draw the hearts of women who don’t know Him to salvation, and that every woman who attends will leave glo-ing for God.

| Priority Prayer Points
The tsunami of blessings we’ve recently experienced has been glorious! But because of the huge response from the LIFE Today program, our staff has much to do. We covet your prayers for the following specific needs:
- We’ve received many international orders for Priority resources. Pray for Courtney as she responds to these orders and ships Bible studies and resources all around the world.
- Janet received many, many emails and contacts from people requesting information about Priority and booking Laurie. Ask God to give Janet discernment and wisdom as she responds to each request.
- Continue to pray for us as we seek much-needed office space for the ministry.
It would be our joy to pray for you, so please email your prayer request to Stephanie, Priority’s Prayer Director. Thanks for interceding for us and for allowing us to intercede for you.

Glo-ing at Home
by Jan Hart, Administrative Support
Spring is almost here, and I can hardly wait! I have already made my annual pilgrimage to The Antique Rose Emporium in
Brenham
,
Texas
. Of course, I returned home with more ideas than I can possibly implement this season, but I love to dream about beautiful plants and future plans for my yard. This season, I’m going to concentrate on two ideas: 1) more container gardening, and 2) a raised-bed vegetable garden. Check out the most recent issue of Southern Living magazine for a wonderful article on this very subject, and keep reading for a link to their site that is sure to inspire the gardener in you.
You ask, “Why container gardening?” Well, because I find I have less time to devote to maintenance of the beds I now have, but I still want beautiful seasonal color in my yard. Container gardening is a wonderful way to accomplish that. Click here to see some beautiful ideas anyone can do.
Finally, here is a new and unique casserole that can be prepared early in the day (since we will be enjoying our beautiful yards!). Just chill it in the refrigerator until you’re ready to pop in the oven at dinner time. Enjoy!
