Laurie, thank you, for your messages and bible studies. My question today is from the message on the so-called brothers and sisters, you mentioned in step 3, that we aren’t to associate with them, if they haven’t repented after going to them the first two times. But you didn’t mention exactly what the verse meant about taking it to the church? What does that part mean? To take like a minister or take it to them ( being a minister) about the situation or what exactly or do you know? Thanks Carol, thanks for all you and your ministry do!!! God bless love ya !

Great questions, Carol. What I meant by “taking it to the church is this: If a the so-called brother/sister doesn’t repent after Step 1 & 2, the next step is to go (in person if possible) to the church leader(s) (pastor and/or elders of the unrepentant believer’s church) and make them aware of the believer’s sin and lack of repentance. After that, the leader(s) are responsible to deal firsthand with the unrepentant member of their church and determine the type of church discipline they believe is necessary. Hope this helps clarify things for you, Carol, but please let me know if it doesn’t. Tough stuff and a super tough topic. Blessings and love right back atcha, beloved sister!

    Hi Laurie
First let me say I enjoyed meeting you on Tuesday night for the taping of a show and for the hugs. This series has given me so much insight and I thank you for doing Royal Pains. I just hope I never turn out to be one to someone, but with the Lord’s help. He is my Rock.

What about people that say they’re Christians, but don’t attend a church anywhere? Maybe they are unable to get to one for various reasons, or perhaps they say churches are full of hypocrites and therefore do not want to go, or they’ve been hurt so badly in a church that they don’t want to attend? In a case such as that, you don’t have a church or elders to go to, so what then?
