Front Porch Friday: Royal Pains — The Weaker Brother & Sister

How do you deal with a Christian brother or sister when they’re weak and wobbly in their faith? Learn how to deal with your Weaker Brother or Sister on today’s Front Porch Friday.

Thanks for sitting on the porch with me!

Your sister,

How has God led you to limit your own liberty in Christ to prevent your weaker brother or sister from stumbling? How did God speak to you today? Thanks for sharing, sister!

This is one of your best, in my humble opinion. ;). Even in total innocence of action or thought it can be perceived by others, or non-believers, as sinful. I LOVE slushes, especially in the summer when I’ve been out working in the yard, I’m mega hot & on top of it all, having a “”power surge””…..slang for, “hot flash”. But even at restaurants I’ve ordered what they call “virgin” pina colada’s”. (NO alcohol) Then one day while we were out eating we did see a couple from our church OR they saw us. Thankfully, we knew them & they stopped to say “Hi”……. then, laughingly said, “Drinking these days?” OH ma goodness!!!!!! It took me a second, then I snapped. My “”drink”” WAS in a glass like any other alcoholic drink would be served in….Well. I turned beet red & immediately offered them a “sip” while hurriedly going on to explain. This sounds, maybe, funny to some but I was mortified!!!! And it wasn’t because of my church family/friends seeing me. I knew they knew me well enough that it wasn’t a problem BUT it was any or all of the others who could have seen us praying before our meal & then me getting a “drink”. So YES!!!!! When you’re least expecting it “”someone is watching you””……….& God too. Nowadays if I order a “slush” I ask that they put it in a “kids” plastic to go up. As a “grannie of 10”, & lovin it, I’m always aware of my thoughts, actions & words. Thanks again Laurie for this series.

What a blessing to hear from you, Beverly! Shanda and I had such a glorious time with you and the women of Kelview. And I can’t wait to decorate my Christmas tree — I’ll always think of you and our Christmas in October shopping trip when I hang those ornaments and set up my grandchildren’s nativity set. Love to you, beloved friend!
