Front Porch Friday: Royal Pains — The Divisive

Front Porch Friday logoIt’s the final day of our Royal Pains series. And today I’m talking about perhaps the most difficult royal pain of all: The Divisive (yikes!). See you on the porch!

Your sister,

Laurie-sig-300dpiHow has God’s Word encouraged you in this series? What has He taught you about dealing with difficult people?

Need a little more help to deal with The Divisive and other assorted royal pains? Click here to watch other videos from the Royal Pains series!

Hey, I have really enjoyed your series, I even post them on my fb for my friends to watch. I think I have seen them all, but Have you had one about dealing with people (Christians) that work at the church. Most are nice and sweet, but I have come across some over the years that are kinda mean and hateful, to me and to others. At this point I just stay away from them, and pray for them
, but at times you do have to interact with them because they are part of the church. I call them “Wolves in Sheeps Clothing” I know that they exsist in all Churches but it really bothers me when they work for the church. Should someone be told? And if so who? Thanks for all you do, it is really appreciated! 🙂

Wow, what a great series! If I had not walked this walk, I would not have believed it could ever get so bad with fellow believers. But I HAVE walked it and you are spot on! Thank you for putting into words and video what the Lord walked me through because it helps underscore the lessons He taught me one-on-One. And confirms that I did hear His voice and obeyed! Plus He sent a Christian woman to come alongside me so I didn’t wind up a doormat! My foundation in Christ has been shored up stronger than ever so that I can walk another through it if need be. Looking back (while still walking it out year after year), I can count it all joy as I move forward. What was meant for my destruction, God turned around for my good and His glory! I am grateful to you, my sister in Christ.

Yessum…..I have run across this just a few, really rare, times. What I did to help ease the strain was “”””luv on em””””. What I found out is that they had things at home, hurts, sorrows, sadnesses that they didn’t talk about for fear of judgement by others in the church. I believe we’re called to LOVE through thick & thin. For my own self….I made the mistake of turning away & staying away……I regret that now. Today I know that I will stand before God in answer for my all in all……..I just want to say, “Lord, I did my best & kept on trying & loving. We do have a fam member, right now, who’s as hateful as a rabid ole dog. But I just happen to know this person is a mass of long years of hurt by peeps that are “”supposed”” to be Christians & LOVE unconditionally. TRUST me when I say it’s NOT easy & you run real risk of getting hurt BUT THE ULTIMATE goal is CHRIST. Thank goodness Jesus didn’t walk away from people who spat on Him…….at least not until he’d made His point. No we cannot be “”doormats””. You can draw a line in the sand & say, “you don’t have my permission to treat me that way”, BUT we are to continue to show His love. And, it took me long years to even be able to be strong enough in Christ to do this…..I spent many a year being a “”doormat””. BUT, and I also spent just a few years being a “”wolf”” . It was then that I was hurting & didn’t know how to get through except in anger. Thank You Lord, again & every day, for where I am today & where you’ll take me tomorrow.
I am unconditionally trying to live in ultimate faith, trust & love……..even to the “unlovable”. Now I pray satan away as I know, he knows my soft spots & I only say this in God’s strength. NOT MY OWN.
Thanks again Laurie for helping us to look at that which is not easy but can’t be left unaddressed. You are a strong lady in The Lord.

Thanks, Laurie. Your words help me deal with folks in the political arena. They say they are Christians, but live to exalt themselves through the vehicle of divisiveness. I have avoided them and will continue to as much as possible. Unfortunately, these people can be successful in their attempts to divide. I see it occurring and it is not good.

Dear Laurie, I can’t tell you how wonderful these series are. It’s like CE classes for Bible study teachers! I love it, I always wished I could ask questions for some of the difficult things, and here it is! You seemed to hit them all. I especially liked the devisive one as I can feel ‘squishy’:) as you said thinking, just one more time. Love the front porch Fridays! Keep it up please. Since I can’t give you a hug, I’m putting you on my prayer list, I can do that for all you are doing for us. Blessings

Dear Laurie, I wait every Friday for your chat with us on the porch and I have been blessed every week-which reads-I have encountered every difficult person you describe! And a few of them are close family! Yikes! Your Biblical and practical approach is helping me immensely and I thank God for you and your porch! I have even shared a video or two w/ my hubby so he can see what I’ve been learning too. I loved the donkey! Was he pinched at the right time? LOL! Perfect timing and brought that point out perfectly! Thank you, Laurie, for being obedient and using the internet to reach us!~ I hope I can see you in person someday in Michigan!
