Hi, This was a great message. I, too, have started to look in the mirror and worry too greatly about the aging process. All of us are getting older, that is a fact! In Christ, though, our hearts and minds can be renewed daily by studying and memorizing His Word. A great message! Thank you for this reminder!

I needed a gentle reminder of how spending too much time thinking about fashion, makeup, hair, etc. steals our focus on Christ. As one who will turn 70 tomorrow (3/23) I am here to tell a woman of any age, that no matter what one does, the years roll by, the wrinkles come, and gravity takes its toll, but the love of our Lord Jesus Christ residing in us, if we allow it, will always shine through and we will be beautiful and precious in His sight, and others will see Christ is us which is the most beautiful attribute any woman could possess. I’d rather seek a mind filled with the knowledge of the Bible, and put it to use with a spirit filled heart. To accomplish this, I have to go back to the segment on “Self-Denial.” The Spring clothes and bright colors are taking way too much of my time right now. Thanks for getting me back on track, Laurie!

Good message! We live in a culture that puts so much emphasis on the outward appearance. The Bible says the opposite!
I pray I please God and not any other god.

Hey Laurie- Glad we didn’t have to fight the wind today! Just wanted to let you know I am sitting on the front porch with you here in North Carolina, and the Lord has used your messages to encourage and instruct me. Thank you so much.

Hi Laurie, First of all I want to tell you that I enjoy your Front Porch Friday’s so much.
It’s amazing how these Front Porch Friday messages seem to hit home! I too just this morning was looking in the mirror and thinking about the aging process as I have many times before. I can honestly say that it doesn’t bother me like it use to because just as you said God looks at the inside and our heart and that is most important that we please Him. Thanks so much for your encouragements and reminders.

Hi, Laurie: I really enjoyed your message on “Self Image” today. It did speak to me clearly! I have heard you speak at Gateway Community Church and have always been inspired by your messages!

This message is so needed, especially in today’s culture! Because of an injury to my spine, I’m not able to exercise like I used to, consequently, I’ve gained some weight. The enemy knows that I feel down about that, and has used it to make me feel unattractive and lose my confidence. Thanks for reminding me that what’s most important is how we look to God in our thoughts and behavior. I really want to be more loving and compassionate to others, so that they see Jesus in me.
PS It’s so nice to not have to strain to hear you above the wind! 🙂

Thank you for your message. As I prepare to go out and shop today it is just what I needed to keep me grounded and focused on the interior vs. the exterior. Blessings to you. I could hear you much better today. What a great idea to move to “Inside the House”. You are living what you preach. Thanks again.

    🙂 Hi Laurie,
Yesterday was my 49th birthday, and I was feeling a little “loosey goosey” and “droopin’ on the sides” myself this morning. *Sigh* Thank you for putting things back into perspective ~ ~ I look forward to your front porch Fridays every week!

Hi Laurie, I had to chuckle prior to listening to this I ordered a device on tv that would help reduce the wrinkles in my face and neck. Ooops! It is free for 30 days with a money back guarantee even the shipping!!! I don’t usually indulge but we will see what the results will be. I loved this week’s lesson. Because as I approach 64 I have been getting a little too concerned about the exterior, and today’s lesson has reminded me that God really cares about my relationship with Him more than my outward appearance. I know that as women we really have to be careful not to get caught up in the world view of beauty. It is a reminder to me when I do, I need to review my notes from your wonderful study “Beauty by the Book”. Thank you so much for helping all of us stay on track. Love these Front Porch Fridays!!! Love you, Joyce
