God has so blessed me through your ministries, Laurie. And now to have Mindy join you is another blessing.Thank you so much. When God says do “it”, and a fellow Christian in church makes it difficult because they are part of the old regime and they have always done “it” and since I am relatively new to the church, I find that what God wants me to do could be so easy, but it is made hard by someone who is well known and well loved by fellow church members, makes me want to tell God, “Why do You want me to do “it” when they so obviously want to do “it”?” It makes me want to quit even though I am convicted that God has called me to do “it”, whatever the “it” may be, and let them have it and to just sit and warm a pew. But the Holy Spirit won’t let me just sit by and not use the spiritual gift God gave me. I feel torn and want to give up. I am conflicted many times, but I persevere. I know God gets tired of hearing me ask, “Why are You putting me in that spot? It’s being handled by someone else?” And then I remember that Jesus taught us to “go.” He didn’t say to “go” only if it’s easy, and I remember that He places us in the body according to His purpose, not someone elses purpose. How I rejoice in His love and understanding of me. Thanks again for how you are helping me in my spiritual growth.
    In Christ, Linda

Hi sweet Linda. Indeed, God calls us to some uncomfortable places of service at times. I pray He guides you in every “it” to which He calls you. I pray for unity among your fellow servants at your church, and I pray He infuses your life with unspeakable joy as you step out and obey Him. Glory to God!

Please go back inside for these sessions. The wind really messes it up and is very hard to understand. I have hearing problems as it is, and this is impossible to get anything out of because of the wind. Love these, please take them back inside!

My apologies, Verla, for the frustration you’re experiencing because of the windiness. Mindy and I recorded all of the sessions in this series outside several weeks ago. Because of our schedules (and because we live approximately 1.5 hours apart from one another) we had to record all of the sessions in a single day. Some sessions may be windier than others — so sorry. I am working on solutions to the wind problem for future videos (including going inside like I did for the final sessions in the 7 Deadly Sins series). Thanks for your patience in the meantime. Blessings to you.

I love your Front Porch Fridays. Today I was not able to understand it. I really feel I miss a lot of your teaching on windy days. It just does not come out clear. So please, if you could find an alternative place to teach on windy days, it would be appreciated so much. Thank you.

Wow God is so good! This is a God moment for me! Exactly one week ago I received a call from a friend/mentor stating that she has been impressed from God to call me to invite me to be a keynote speaker at a upcoming Chicagoland women’s retreat in November. God has been speaking to me quietly about speaking/sharing the word of God with women in a more formal way. I have felt scared, unworthy, and not good enough to serve in that way. God has used you to speak to me to reinforce that he is not looking for me to be perfect, confident, and worthy but He wants to use me just as I am so that other’s may more clearly see His light and perfect love through me. You were on my list to call for mentorship and support. I’ll be in touch soon. My mentor is willing to prepare me as I plan with the women’s group what God is asking us to do in November. God is perfect in His timing and wisdom. Laurie, be encouraged and empowered by the Holy Spirit in your servant work for Him. He is using you in mighty ways my friend. May I have the courage to become more intimate with him everyday so that I can truly shine for Him. Love you! Will call soon to schedule a short mentorship call with you. In the meanwhile please hold me in prayer. Many blessings, Ivy

Thank you Ladies so much for this message. I have been a Licensed Vocational Nurse for 18 years and God has opened up doors and opportunities of promotions and raises beyond my wildest dreams .I feel unworthy because I am not a Registered Nurse , but have received all the blessings of being one. At times I feel guilty because I do not have all the schooling of a Registered Nurse. But, I know that I know, this is what God has called me to do. Many times I have wanted to quit ,and I say I can’t do this anymore Lord. I feel inadequate at times and I say I am not educated enough. I have realized this is God’s doing, and I pray before I go to work that he will give me the grace , courage, and wisdom to do my job and he does. Thank you both for giving me insight ,and helping me to realize that this does make us more dependent on him, draws us closer to him and gives him Glory !

Lily, I know how you feel. I have been a Certified Respiratory Therapist for 30yrs. and am now also a Certified Asthma Educator. I have felt “inadequate” many times because I am not a Registered Therapist. But the Holy Spirit reminds me that the most important titles I hold are “Daughter of the Most High King and Co-heir in Christ.” It’s the love, care and compassion we give our patients that matters the most. I pray that we will not allow the world to tell us who we are or where we belong. Have faith that God has us exactly where he wants us. Thank you Laurie for your Front Porch series, I love them! Thank you Lord for these women!

Ladies I am so blessed by your comments. It thrills me to know God encouraged you through the session. Thank you so much, Laurie, for the opportunity to share on your porch. I trust our God is bigger than that pesky wind.

Mindy and Laurie. Rest assure that God is bigger than that pesky wind. He is much bigger than anything we can encounter. Do you remember a verse that goes like this? “Who has seen the wind? Neither you, nor I, but when the trees lift up their heads the wind is passing by.” When I watched you last Friday, I was so engrossed in what you all were saying that I hardly paid attention to the wind. As I reflect now on what was going on, I realize that I didn’t see God either, but I knew He was there, just as surely as the wind was there. How I praise Him for always being there for me, even if I don’t see Him. Blessings on both of you as you minister to women like me,
    Linda

What a beautiful reply, Linda. Praise God He is indeed bigger than any winds of adversity, waves of hardship, or storms of evil such as we saw in Boston this week. Our God is bigger. Love it, Linda! Thank you for your wise, encouraging words.
