  1. Thank you for reminding me of what is really important which is my relationship with God. We are under so much peer pressure in our culture to obtain things that are not going to last. Thank you Laurie for this valuable lesson on what is truly important in our lives.

  2. Amen! It is easy to blindly get caught up in all the overindulgences of our world. I think of Job and how quickly it can all be taken away. And Judas Escariot and how earthly greed can kill us. I do not want U-store lockers filled with stuff. I want to show God’s glory not by what I have but by Who’s I am. Thank you Laurie.

  3. From rags to riches has been a story I’ve watched unfold with many of our family members, over a number of years. And the most important thing I learned was this, “there just isn’t enough money or stuff that can make you happy unless you know God & have His Son as your Savoir!”
    When we keep Him first, in all things, we realize it’s all His & it, ( money & stuff), can go as quickly as it comes. BUT we can rest in complete peace knowing we cannot lose the most important gift of His Love, Jesus.
    As we keep watching storm after storm wreak havoc across the country what we keep hearing & seeing many of people say is, “we survived, our lives were spared”. And for each there is a purpose & a plan…….oh Lord, that we might keep His path our goal.
    And, Laurie, I laughed til I cried “””because””” I surely have been foolish woman #3 more times than I’d like to admit. Glad you’re okay & just the pride was bruised. Thanks for keeping us focused on the ONLY thing that’s important.

  4. As I think about Foolish Woman #3, I think of all the things that take up my time, that “in the end”, do they really matter? I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and yes, even popular “sweet” app-based games. But did the time I’ve spent on those things this summer draw me or anyone else closer to God? Oops, looks like I have been greedy/selfish with my time! Thank you , Lord, that by giving me another day, you give me another chance.
