Worry and Fear: 3 Ways to Find Strength

Stronger 5

Are worry and fear wearing you out? Are uncertain circumstances in your life robbing you of sleep or causing you to feel weak and vulnerable? If you answered YES, then you need to come sit on the porch with me today. Why? Because I’m struggling with fear and worry, too. But God has shown me three powerful ways to find strength, and today I’m going to share all three with you.

Join me on the porch today as we meet someone who struggled with both fear and worry AND can teach us how to become STRONGER even as we struggle. See you on the porch!

Your sister,

LaurieSig

Post your prayer request, glo girl, so we can pray for you. And please share how God has touched or spoken to you recently and given you strength. Thanks for sharing!

Laurie, your encouragement today was critical for me. I was crying out to the Lord just this morning about my fear and worry. I told Him that I want to know that I know, even in the midst of undesired circumstances, that God is The Almighty whom I can put my complete trust in. I greatly appreciate prayer for two situations that tend to cause me much fear and worry. 1. Grandchildren in a bad home situation. 2. When family members have concerning health issues.
Question: On the day that you fast, do you spend the whole day in prayer before the Lord or do you just fast from food and go on with your normal routine? —– Love, Dixie

Thank you, Dixie, for sharing your heart and your prayer requests. I’m praying for you, dear sister, for your grandkids and for the health concerns your other family members have. My heart breaks for you, but I know you are a strong, godly woman, and you’re going to come through all of this even stronger.

About my once-a-week fast: I am fasting the entire day as well as spending time in prayer — but not the entire day in prayer. However, Dixie, when I’m fasting, I find that I am reminded to pray more throughout the day as I go about my normal routine. Love and prayers to you, dear sister.

    Dear Lorie,
Your front porch series has been a timely message of encouragement to me, and many of my friends. About 5 months ago, I found that my husband of 27 years was having an emotional affair with a female co-worker. We struggled greatly through a period of 3 months where he became verbally and emotionally abusive. At the advice of our marriage counselor, I had to get a no-contact order. By the mercy of God, that period lasted only 6 weeks. He is greatly humbled and repentant. We are in a recovery peroid…basking in the presence of God to repair our marriage and make it STRONGER. My worry? He is still working in the same place. He has been really looking for another job. I do believe God has something else for him and will make a way where there is no way. Would you join me in praying for a good job for him somewhere else?
During that 6 week period, the presence of God was so very precious and strong. His Word was so clear. His peace was like an umbrella over me. All of my worries and fears were like prowling dogs around the edge, but they could not get to me. He kept me in His peace, under the shelter of His wing. That experience changed me. My love for Him and my desire to stay close to him forever has grown so very much. I would not have signed up for this trial, but I am thankful for it. God uses our afflictions FOR us! They are the fuel to deepen our faith. Praise His name.
I am praying for you too. God bless.

    Laurie,
I was just praying with my prayer partner yesterday and pouring out my heart, and we prayed. Your words today are the answer to that prayer. My heart cried, ‘what do I do Lord?’ I can fast, and He already told me to read the psalms more so you know I will be doing that to ‘hear His Word’ and feel His touch. I want to encourage you, I can’t send money right now to be a partner, but I can and will fast and pray for you until I am working and can partner financially as well. Love you so much. I am so thankful you are following our Lord, cuz I’m right behind you šŸ™‚ keep glo’ing…

Hallelujah! God hears AND answers our prayers, doesn’t He? What a comfort and encouragement your testimony is for me and for all of us worriers. Debra, thank you for reminding me to keep doing what you and your prayer partner are doing: “Ask and it shall be given to you; seek, an and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you” (Matt. 7:7). Your heart to help Priority touches my heart, and your prayers mean so much to me. I’m praying for you, too, and believing Matt. 7:8 for both of us: “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened.” Love to you!
