Surprised? Me, too, but that’s exactly what God has been teaching me as I’ve been studying and preparing for today’s session of STRONGER — our current Front Porch Friday series.

God bless you Laurie! This message has been repeating in my life today in my God Calling Devo and bible reading. It is so timely for the gals in my grief class too. I am leading the class on my own for the first time and lean totally on The Lord for His direction. I will direct them to this front porch Friday lesson. Thank you for your heart to encourage and lead women to the hope in The Lord. You are a gift from God. Stay warm out there!
    Love and blessings,
    Janet

Thank you Laurie! As always His timing is so perfect. You mentioned a word I’ve been feeling a lot of lately….tired. Tired. Tired. Tired of putting myself in the same old tired situation. But God has reminded me to have Faith…Faith in Him. And because of that from this tired situation growth is occurring….yay!!!

This message is one of those reminders to have faith, patience and perseverance. Thank you so much for your wisdom and strength ;). God Bless.

Your honesty touched and resounded with me and I’m sure with everyone who read your comment. When we are weak, He is strong, and that’s exactly what your testimony reminded me of. Glory! Blessings to you, precious sister.

Hi sis, Thank you for being steadfast and faithful like our Lord. Every single time you hit a bullseye…
There is something in my life that makes me feel soooooo weak, and I do get tired. As a matter of fact this past week was one of those trials, and for the bazillionith time I went to God, did what I knew to do right, and cried to Him. I have to tell you I was not considering it all joy. I had actually resigned myself to never seeing change, just following God because I loved Him no matter what. And then it happened. He who says He changes the heart of Kings, and turns it whichever way He wills, changed the heart I had been praying for, and showed me His Power once again. THANK YOU GOD! My sweet little teenage daughter’s favorite verses is Prv 18:10 The Name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous RUN into it and are SAFE. Like you said today, Run to Him. He can hide you under the shadow of His mighty wings, until the storms blow over. He still speaks to storms and tells them to “shush”! And though weeping may endure for a season, joy DOES comes in the morning. I know you know that, but if you are like me, you love to hear it from others. When He brings the sunshine after a storm, well that’s just about the most amazing thing there is in all the world. I still can’t believe though how our Abba Father has you pick just the right things we need to walk with Him, and there you are all the way down in Texas. I wish I had met you when I was stationed down there so very long ago, wow, 40 years ago! I must be getting old. What I loved about Texas was Brackenridge Park, filled with more horses than I had seen in my lifetime, and only $2.00 an hour to ride! So, I rode every day, after my studies/surgical training was over. I thought I’d share some treasured Tx memories this side of heaven. 🙂 And my dearest friend who was the first born again person I had ever met is a Tx gal. She is sweet like you too. I still remember the day I got saved and called her because now I knew WHY she was so sweet, it wasn’t just the tea, it was Jesus shining so brightly through her. ps. I love that the Lord made sure the computer was invented so if we couldn’t find a Kindred spirit in our neighborhood, God could take us there in a blog! Who knew? Talk about finding a way of escape. He sure is faithful, and good, and loves His girls way to much to leave us without help. Praying for you…keep running the race, we’re right behind, and others are following us too, eek! Good thing we’ve got a strong and powerful GOD so we can lean on those EVERLASTING arms and run our races together to the finish line.

Preach on, sister! I am definitely in your “amen corner” down here in Texas, and I so loved and agreed with every word you wrote. God is faithful — even when we come to Him for the “bazillionth” time, He showers His mercy, grace and help upon us. So happy to meet you here on the porch, Debra. Looking forward to getting to know you better here on the blog, dear sister.

I thank God for your so-timely reminder (as I weep through a great struggle) that we can come boldly to His throne of mercy and find grace to help in our time of need. HE IS ALWAYS LISTENING. HE CARES AS NO PERSON ON EARTH EVEN CAN.
God bless you, Laurie, beautiful sister in Christ, for your obedience to His leading.
You make a difference from your porch and all the places you walk in His strength.

And I can so SO relate to the fear you’ve felt, Sharon. Sometimes our struggles can be so scary that we forget that He is SOOOOO close. Thank you so much for letting me hear from you — I’m thrilled to have you on the porch. Love!

Yeah! I wasn’t doing so good at memorizing the verse, so I put it on my desktop, now everytime I look at my computer, there it is, reminding me God cares, and has a purpose, and is with me, and is helping me, and that the battle belongs to Him, and I rest deep in my soul. That is a miracle! Please give a hug to whoever is doing the Scripture art, what a beautiful way to learn scripture! Thank you

    Hi Laurie.
Agggghhhh was my word for last year in many ways & areas. NEGATIVE was the operative word & my soul just can’t do negative. So the word from this lesson that I heard was “positive”! I’d already made my mind up, several weeks ago, then PRAYED hard for His strength for this new year to be a positive one. As you sit & listen to ALL that’s going on in our world it’s very easy to be overwhelmed by fear, anxiety & ect. ie; NEGATIVE stuff…. it can become defeating. Then, as it gets closer to home, if there’s any negativity in your family, well…. it can become suffocating. But I do KNOW that we CAN rest in Him Psalms 37:7 & then Hebrews 4…tells us of the Believers rest. I’m absolutely “”positive”” that God IS in control yet I still want to “fix” things…(;-0) not this year though. I’m really letting go & giving over, again.
Blessings & stay warm…..more cold weather on the way.

I love your porch ministries, and have been so blessed by them. I am grateful, and at the moment tearful!
Your compassion for the Lord is so evident, and keeps me coming back to hear what the Lord has to say to me.
