GREAT topic & it is as contagious as the flu. Several years ago I was going along, glowing with love for Christ & my life, being His “”humble servant””. Then one day these words emerged…..”But, what about me?” EEEEKKK!
Before I even got through that first week, the war was on. God had already shown me SO much that, truly, I was traveling on my knees, (thankfully, I still am). But just one BIG, heart, incident brought me down. And, seriously, it took, not days or even weeks but, MONTHS of praying & just plain having daily conversations with God when finally, Thankfully & JOY-fully, I submitted & GAVE IN to His Word. There just was NO justification to be found. Heehee. We can really try hard to “justify” but there’s 2 things that our Lord is & that’s…………
TRUTH & LOVE. John 8:26…….He is true & 15:1 I…. am the true vine.
John 10:17…..The Father loves me, (Jesus), because I lay down my life that I may have it back again. Thanks again Laurie for continuing to “”remind”” us our flesh is weak but He is strong & we CAN hold on to Him daily, 24/7

    Laurie,
This was wonderful and a great reminder (kick in the pants) that it is not all about us! Ultimately, it is all about Him. 🙂 Awesome and encouraging. Thank you for your ministry. I look forward to seeing your beautiful face each week! Do you have a place to leave prayer requests on your website? Christ’s blessings to you! “Be Still and Know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

I loved your concept of sitting and talking on the front porch! You are right on target with your message on self-importance. We all do it in such subtle ways, but God sees right through the facade! Thank you for your message.

Gee, I failed lesson #3. Guilty as can be and I didn’t even realize what I was doing. Thanks for bringing this word to us as we all need encouragement to continue following Christ in the world we live in. God bless you Laurie!

Thanks for reminding me that self is a deadly sin and it is easy to fall in to self if you are not thinking clearly. I did not look at self-importance that way. I knew it was wrong but could not see why but because of Front Porch Friday my eyes are open. Keep letting God use you. I am from Virginia a small town. See you Friday.

Thank you for your ministry! I was especially convicted this week…Caring more what others will think of me instead of caring what the Lord thinks…Self is certainly a deadly sin indeed. I am looking foward to next week! 🙂

    Ps Love the front porch!
