Front Porch Firepit: Spiritual Warfare 101

Spiritual warfare isn’t exactly my favorite teaching topic. But it is absolutely essential that you and I recognize the reality of spiritual warfare and the very real goal of the enemy:

“Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.”  1 Peter 5:8 NASB

On today’s Front Porch Friday, we will begin a series I’ve entitled Spiritual Warfare 101. This 4-part series is excerpted from Warrior Princess — my new 4-part DVD teaching series (which you can purchase online or receive as our gift for your support).

Are YOU open prey for the enemy? Discover the answer to this question and the very first thing you must do before you can win at warfare. See you at the firepit!

Your sister,

LaurieSig

I would love to hear from you or pray for you, precious sister. Please post your comment or prayer request.

Would you pray with me for my marriage. I put on the full armor of God every morning. My husband is addicted to porn and will not confess that he does. Does not want to take responsibility

Oh, Rosemary, I sure will pray, and I know many other women who read your request will join me and intercede for you and your husband. One of the first things I thought of after reading your note was one of my favorite Christian blogs (tolovehonorandvacuum.com) by Sheila Wray Gregoire. It’s a very encouraging site that I hope you’ll check out — especially this article that deals with husbands like yours: http://tolovehonorandvacuum.com/2012/01/how-to-deal-with-a-husbands-pornography-use-a-mans-perspective/. Keep putting on the armor — I know the Lord is going to show you what to do in this war against your marriage. Much love to you, dear sister.

Oh Girl you are not alone… I have the same issue with my husband, It seems that it is tough when we feel that were in spiritual battle alone, If our husbands allow a huge open door like an addition to porn that we have no where to go but to God. I am praying for you Sister as I am experiencing the same issue. I like what Laurie says about not sinning in our anger in this first video, or allowing the enemy to get a foothold. through reacting in anger. I have been in a spiritual battle for many years, and have not stood ground in the Spiritual realm. I am seeking to engage in this battle and to meditate on every word that from this series. I am claiming victory in Jesus Name.. For You.. and Me..

    Blessing Laurie,
I love your Southern accent, I am a New Yorker and I am in Warfare with unemployment. Please keep me and all those other Christians that are seeking employment. I have a family to support and dreams of finishing my education. I know that I have a God that does the impossible, and a Holy Spirit in Romans 8:26 that intercedes. But we Christian know the power of prayer for each other. Laurie keep up the good Godly work that you do,
    Blessing,
    Inez

Thanks so much for sharing your heart and prayer request with me, Inez. Know of my prayers for you, dear sister, as you seek a job and more education. Your comment reveals your faith in God which encourages me so much. Continue to trust Him and win the battle against the enemy who so wants to discourage you, and I will continue to pray for you.

And P. S. Thanks for the encouragement about my accent. 🙂 Love to you!

    Laurie,
I could really use prayer today, unsaved family is here for Thanksgiving. While holidays have always been a little strained, we were able to work together, pray and see the Lord work through them. But the last few years seem to have become especially debilitating, and I feel like I am the little goat that the predator is trying to take down through my mother in law that I loved and prayed and fasted for these past 25 years. Instead of coming up for a visit she has taken over my home, as well as our holiday. I never saw it coming. I feel like the kid in the ocean with one leg in the alligator and she is trying to drag me under. I could use some wise counsel.

Just wanted to let you know that I was praying for you yesterday, Debbie, and your family. I’d sure love to hear how you’re doing and how your Thanksgiving went. Also, since you asked for some wise counsel, I want to encourage you to take a look at my Front Porch Friday series Royal Pains: How to Deal With Difficult People (you may even think I taught that series just for you). Here’s the link for it: https://www.priorityministries.com/christian-womens-blog/4105-2/ . Love to you!

    Laurie,
Please pray for my son, A prodigal. We have been crying out to God for 7 years…every time he makes a step toward God, things go from bad to worse. He has given up on God and all hope, wanting to end his life. I know the enemy is hard at work….and we are trying to stay strong in the fight, but feel we are losing the battle. We are in warfare! We need more warriors praying! I know God’s ways are best, even if it goes against our desires for him. Praying for a Supernatural touch from God in his life….a Saul/Paul experience! Thank you for your prayers! May God bless your ministry!
