The After Glo

It’s the Monday After. The Monday after the Glo Girl Conference.  And as you can see, our office is a wreck.

We’ve got boxes full of leftover supplies for the conferences.

And boxes full of leftover snacks and extra drinks from the conference.

And even more boxes full of an assorted array of miscellaneous stuff from the conference.

To sum it all up, we’ve got a real mess on our hands.

And this is how we feel about it:

Welcome to the Glo Girl Conference After Glo Conga Line (l-r: Pam, Shanda, Mary, and me)!  Even this messy office can’t quench our joy today about all that God did this past weekend!

There’s only one thing that would make our After Glo Celebration even better: YOU! So we’ve come up with a fun way for you to celebrate with us. We’re having our very first Glo Girl Blog Giveaway! Check out the details:

If you attended the Glo Girl Conference, leave a comment telling me what you most enjoyed about the conference. On Wednesday, I’ll announce 3 winners who will each receive a Best Value CD Bundle (a 10-CD collection of my most requested messages).

So let the celebration continue! Post your comments today and tomorrow, and glo-rify the Lord for the joy we shared together this weekend. It’ll almost be like having you right here in the conga line with us. Love you, glo girls!

After Glo Conga Line…..Love it! On a fun note….I loved they way we wrapped up the conference…GLO-ing….a sweet reminder of what we are called to do. On a serious note….the bookmark is going to be a great reminder that I have commited to be a Devoted Disciple.

Hi Laurie, I’m one of your old precept girls that DID her homework and still do, thanks so much for a great conference. My sister and I went and learned so much and want even more to be committed to our Savior. We enjoyed Jan Silvious and want to read her books and put her suggestions to work.(we loved the draw bridge):) As you talked about casual and devoted I know I’m devoted but there is always stuff to learn and do more in our walk with the Lord. Ya’ll gave us great spiritual food and great worship. The singing was wonderful sooo thanks so much for letting the Lord use you and your staff to equip us to do better still. In Christ, Marilyn

I was unsure whether I should attend or not and thank God I have no regrets. Whenever there is an opportunity to sing songs and worship God I jump at those opportunities. With respect to the conference, I just loved the simply way it was presented. I am reminded that yes, I do have a story but it must be relevant to the view that God has of me and I am to be a devoted and decided disciple – “Looking more like Christ”. I was blessed and I enjoyed every aspect of it.

Thank you. God bless and continue delving in God’s truth.

As a young single mom of a toddler and a pre-schooler, I am exhausted after I work my full-time job. Add a commute, one kid in school full time and one in daycare…it can be overwhelming. So when I first found out that this conference was going on I thought I would check it out and then decided that since it was a Friday evening…I’d probably just pass. But for some reason I found myself driving to the Glo Girl Conference and as soon a Jan Silvious opened her mouth and started talking about getting stuck in your story…I just felt floored. THAT was why I went. I walked away and felt so refreshed. For the first time in awhile I really felt like I didn’t need to be defined by my roles and responsibilities, I’m working to not go to my favorite bad feeling and I feel so much calmer than I did a few day ago. I’m glad I went, and I’m even more glad that I went by myself so that I could really focus on what was said. The music really was great, too. Thank y’all for putting together such a wonderful program. It was just what I needed. 🙂

    Laurie,
The conference as a whole was an exceptional experience! The Texas hospitality that you and your staff blessed Tina and myself with was awesome. I was really blessed by Jan’s message! My very own mother is one of those people that I desperately need to “foolproof” and I am excited to read her book. Every time I try to talk with her about the awesome things that Christ has done in my life, she shuts me down! I am saddened and frustrated at times, but I know that there is hope in Christ! I was touch by Lisa’s beautiful voice and the worship led by your hubby! I wish I lived in Houston! Blessings to you, my sister!

    Dear God,
Thank you so much for people like Laurie, and Jan, and Lisa. Again thank you for maiking it possible for me to attend the Glo Girl Confrence. I know you God already know how much it meant to me to attend and learn and rub elbows with other sister’s in Christ. Especially after your lessons three days prior of faith and hope and love. I’m sorry you needed me to learn these by spending 14 hours in jail/man made pergatory wtih people who think it’s ok to abuse power and authority. But I understand why me as I know it’s wrong and how to correct that problem. Thank you so much for not giving up on me and continuing to show me that I need you and your word every second I breathe. Your creation Tina.

My sister Janice is a member of Sagemont and called me a few months ago and said ” Write this date down, we are going to this conference.” I am the oldest sister, the one pointing her finger and making all the rules, but knew she and I needed this time together. Just having the opportunity to worship and pray and fellowship was enough but the actual scripture passages were so filled with affirmation to where God is taking my life right now. I Love how , no matter where my crazy schedule takes me, God has the verse/s, the word I need in that moment waiting on me when I get there. He calls His children to minister to us so we can in turn minister to others. Thank you , Jan and Lisa (and the army of volunteers) for obviously following God’s lead in preparing for this conference. See you next time with friends.

When I first saw the You Glo Girl conference advertised I immediately wanted to go! It sounded fun and inspirational. I however did not want to go alone. God put it in my heart to invite a lady from work that I had not in the past got along with but God had been leading me to rekindle the friendship we once had. I invited her and before I even could tell her what the conference was about she accepted my invitation. Well my friend and sister in Christ, Libby, and I had a blessed time at the conference. We got to fellowship and worship together and it was amazing! The teachings of Jan and Laurie touched both our hearts and lives. We both made a commitment to be devoted disciples. Thank you so much for the opportunity to fellowship with everyone and a life changing experience. Can’t wait for the next Glo Girl conference!

I truly enjoyed the Glo Girl Conference this weekend. The Lord has put some things on my heart and this weekend confirmed some things for me. Thank you so much for allowing the Lord to speak through you to all of us women. Looking forward to the next conference, maybe you will think of having a retreat in the future. God’s Blessings always to you and everyone at Priority Ministries.

I already posted once, but this has been on my heart and just had to share it…God is Awesome! While at the Glo Girl Conference this weekend I had some money fall out of my pocket that I was going to use to buy books. I was really upset for a little while, my friend and I even retraced our steps to see if we could find it during the break. After a wonderful worship during the second session. I decided that it was good that I lost the money, maybe someone needed it more than I did. Then Saturday it was announced that someone had turned in some money. It turned out to be the money I had lost. I was overjoyed and humbled at the same time. So happy that God showed me there are kind, honest, Godly people out there. It really lifted my spirits and I worshiped God with all my heart. Well, it turns out there is someone that needs that money more than me. God put it on my heart. I decided that someone out there can benefit through the Priority Ministries and I donated the money…as well as becoming a monthly giver. May God pour blessings our on you and everyone that the Priority Ministries touches.

What a wonderful conference! The part that convicted me was the very last session on “A casual christian vs. A devoted disciple”. I now see where I need to make slight adjustments. Although I wrote a lot of the scripture references down, I still missed a few along with portions of the points made – Where can I get a copy of this outline (with the blanks completed)?
