The Truth About You

Do you know who you really are? It is absolutely imperative that you do. Why? Because if you don’t know the truth about you, you’re toast.

You see, Satan does know the truth about you, and he’s totally committed to keeping you from that truth. How does he do it? He lies, and you believe it. And this is how those lies make you feel:

  • You battle feelings of low self-worth, insecurity, and insignificance daily.
  • You beat yourself up and tear yourself down frequently.
  •  You compare yourself to other women, and you’re always the loser (they’re smarter, prettier, more spiritual, more loved, etc., ad nauseam).
  • You allow worry, fear, and despair to rob you of peace regularly.

Girl, are you as sick of those lies as I am? Are you ready to arm yourself with the truth that the enemy knows full well will set you free? Me, too! So, sister, let’s do something powerful together:

I’m going to give you a couple of scriptures that I’m using to oppose the enemy’s lies, then I want you to share yours with me. OK? I’ll go first:

When I’m feeling beat up and like a loser, this truth sets me free:

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”   Romans 8:1 NASB

When I’m feeling powerless and insignificant, this truth sets me free :

“Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Cor. 15:58 NASB

OK, now it’s your turn. Please post the specific truths you’re wielding like a sword (Eph. 6:17) to destroy Satan’s lies and experience freedom in your life. C’mon, now. Don’t swallow one more lie — even one like this: “You don’t have anything to share. And even if you did, it wouldn’t help anyone else.” LIE!

Precious sister, together, let’s encourage one another  and every other woman who is reading these words to “stand firm against [Satan’s] schemes (Eph. 6:11). Together, let’s show him that we do, indeed, know the truth about who we really are. And together, let’s be free.

“It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.”  Gal. 5:1 NASB

Love!

Your sister,

Thanks Laurie for sharing this! Love it!
When I am feeling beat or like a loser, this truth sets me free:
“The LORD is my strength and my defense ; he has become my salvation. He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.” Exodus 15:2
When I feel powerless, this truth sets me free “Your right hand, LORD, was majestic in power. Your right hand, LORD, shattered the enemy.” Exodus 15:6

Jackey, those are FANTASTIC scriptures! And every time you use them, you’re giving Satan marching orders to flee far, far away from you. You’re glo-ing, girl!

Thanks for sharing this. When I am afraid and beat up by Satan I just found this scripture; For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear I will help you. Isaiah 41:13

Hi Laurie, There are times satan has me believing his lies that I am unworthy of love, and am insecure… I sing out to my Daddy, as He reminds me He is my strong tower, –every fear has no place at the sound of His great name,
the enemy, he has to leave, at the sound of His great name (from Your Great Name; Natalie Grant)
I just love visualizing myself saying to satan… (as I melt in my HIS loving bosom) …. Have you met my Daddy? I am an heir of HIS kingdom and co-heirs with Christ, (my bro) if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. Romans 8:16

I have to say that Romans 8:37-39 carries such Kingdom Authority, it is my daily battlecry.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerorsthrough Him that loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come. Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate me from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen

WOW!! A little late reading this post…..but then again not really! It’s all in God’s timing!! (Too bad Satan….I do have something to share….and I will share!) I have felt insecure about being in an office of people with college degrees and being the only one who doesn’t have one and because of it, I tend to keep quiet and be more of a side liner. I have also been asking God to get me out of my box…..and He has been very gentle in doing so. I have also been trying to make a conscious effort to step out in faith…usually praying “Ok Lord, I am going to step out of my box now…I am trusting you!” Well on Tuesday, I was doing my bible study and was pulling out some of my Bible study resource books to help me. I had finished my study and had set a book out to browse through when I finished…”Who’s Who and Where’s Where in the Bible.” I started to look for John the Baptist, since we are studying the Book of John right now. A box caught my eye….of those prophets that had said “no” to God initially. When I got to Moses…I read this scripture:
Exodus 4:10 ~ Then Moses said to the LORD, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”
Wow! I immediately ran to open my bible and read the next two verses.
Exodus 4:11-12 ~ So the LORD said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the LORD? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say.”
Sorry this post is long….but I am just so blown away with God’s timing and how He uses certain things in a certain way to speak to His children. He just amazes me! over and over again!

Thank you Laurie, for being faithful in your walk with God and for allowing Him to use your life for the glory of His kingdom. I recently was at the Princess Warrior Retreat with CCCH. You are an amazing speaker and a most precious Sister in Christ! It was an amazing weekend and God is still speaking to me through the retreat and the words you spoke.

    God Bless You!
