Vote For the Title of My New Study

If you watched Friday’s Front Porch Friday video, then you already know that I’m writing a new Bible study about discipleship. You also know about my power struggle with perfectionism — a paralyzing force that impedes my progress especially on projects like . . . well, writing Bible studies.

Many of you must be praying for me, because the Lord is gracing me and propelling me forward as I work on the new study. Thank you, precious sister, and praise Him for the beautiful way He is using your intercession to help me write this study.

Soooo . . . wanna help me a little more? I’ve got an easy peasy way for you to help me choose the title for my new study. Just click and submit your favorite title on the poll below. Thank you! And for those of you who would like to really, really help me, post a comment telling me why you liked one title more than the other. Double thank you!

Time to quit writing this post and get back to writing the study. Please vote (it’s anonymous), and post a comment if you can — it will help so much. But above all, please keep praying for me. I know. I sound needy. But that’s only because I am.

Love you, sister!

OK so do you want us to be really honest here? Text talk/type irritates me so I like #2 🙂 SOOO excited you are writing a new Bible study!!

I voted for the first one because I think it is straightforward enough when read by say, the Baby boomer generation. But it can also bridge the gap & appeal to the Young Adult Ladies who are of the techno-generation. I, too, look forward to the next bible study. Thanks Laura for the Kingdom Work you are doing.

I voted for the first one with the text talk. It seems like a more straightforward, challenging and multi-generational title. The second one seemed a bit awkward somehow. I’m so glad you are writing about this very important aspect of our Christian walk. Thanks!

Yes, I think it’s an important topic, too. And sadly, a kinda ignored topic. I’m weighing both titles — hope to make a decision soon. Gina, your opinion has both helped and blessed me. Thanks so much for taking time to share. Love!

I like the second one. It is strong/confident in tone to where I start to think, yes, me a disciple. Very positive to a single gal like me where I am the head of my household and need to be an example to my daughter. I am raising a disciple and princess of the King of kings!!! As a believer in being bold for Christ, I like the title as sleek, simple words with STRONG meaning. Thanks Laurie for delivery of the message to us. What a blessing you have been to my life and my daughter. We are enjoying the on-line series together! Blessings to you.

I like the title that asks me to answer the question. It makes it personal…we have a choice to make. It reminds me of your first Glo Girl conference. I still remember contrasting a casual christian and a devoted disciple.

    I like them both …(heehee!)
However, You: A Disciple- made me ponder.

I voted for the second one. Being a “senior” myself, and a teacher, and a person who is a lover of words, I think the text language is a little too trendy and silly. It is a serious study, and deserves a serious title.
When you decide, let us know why you pick what you do!

I picked: You: A Disciple. I too grow weary of text/talk, but I think I like the second one, because it is a definite statement. Something I can personalize and clearly see what the goal of the study is. Blessings to you as you work on this study. I’m looking forward to it. Keep us posted!

I chose the second one, simply because it is a reminder that I AM a disciple of Christ and we are instructed by Christ to make disciples.

Laurie, I chose the first one, because it’s a good question to ask ourselves? “Am I a disciple?” It gives me the opportunity to stop and examine my life and if I am a true follower of Christ, and what I need to change to become all God calls me to be in order to be His disciple. I look forward to your new study on discipleship 🙂
