Week 2 Get Down Glo Girl: My Weigh-in & Food List

Before I share my Week 1 Get Down Glo Girls food list and weigh-in numbers with you, I just gotta say . . .

Thanks and hugs to all 76 of you who have already joined me for our 10-week, lose-weight-get-healthier, accountability group! Can’t wait to read your Get Down Glo Girl comments today and hear how your first week went!

And good news for those of you who haven’t joined: it’s not too late to join our group. Just click here for details about our Get Down Glo Girls group,  and add your “I’m in” comment to this post to join. We would so love to welcome you to this exciting 10-week adventure in accountability.

Okay, as promised, here’s my Week 1 Get Down Glo Girl Food List (just click to open a PDF of all of the food and calories I consumed last week, quiet time and exercise info, and the amount of weight I lost).

By God’s grace and with your prayers, support, and accountability, I am grateful to report that I had a glo-rious Week 1 and lost 2 lbs.! Glory to God!

I’ve been praying for you this past week, too. So, please be sure to leave your comment, and let me hear how your  Week 1 went. You don’t have to share your weight/weight-loss/weight-gain numbers (unless you want to). You just have to “check-in” by adding your comment to this post – that’s the accountability part of Get Down Glo Girls.

Today, as we begin Week 2, I want to encourage you with a couple of amazing scriptures to stand on (or even better, memorize) this week:

Romans 8:12-13 (NLT)
12 Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation whatsoever to do what your sinful nature urges you to do.
13 For if you keep on following it, you will perish. But if through the power of the Spirit you turn from it and its evil deeds, you will live.

Hold on to God’s Word this week, girls! And through the power of His indwelling Spirit, do not allow  your flesh (or the enemy) to bully you into believing that you’re too weak to control your body or what you eat or drink. Let the Spirit flow, girls, and you will glo!

Got your Week 2 meals planned yet? That’s what I’m doing today. And here are a few of my favorite breakfast and on-the-go pantry staples – thought maybe you’d like to add them to your grocery list:

My morning yum-yum: Coffee with 2 Splenda and 2 tbl. fat-free cream. 40 calories of deliciousness!

Healthy (and filling) breakfast: Kashi Go Lean Instant Hot Cereal with Clusters, berries, and a slice of 12-grain toast. Comfort food at it’s guilt-free best!

Time to start Get Down Glo Girl Week 2! Don’t be discouraged if your scale hasn’t moved yet (or even if it’s moved in the wrong direction). Don’t quit, sisters! Post your comment today, and let’s:

  • Hang-in together for one more week.
  • Pray for each other daily.
  • Encourage one another by replying to each other’s comments.

In other words, let’s Get Down & Glo Girls!

Praying for you, your sister,

It’s your turn, glo girls! Let me know how your Week 1 went. And please share any tips or pantry staples you’re enjoying as well.  Wanna join our group? Just leave a comment, and tell us you’re IN!

Down a pound and found a good Special K breakfast sandwich (frozen) that makes a great breakfast or a light supper. There were several varieties.

As I mentioned last week, I am not really trying to lose weight ( I was there last year!), but I am training for a 1/2 marathon and love the accountability that groups like this give me! I had a tough run this last week. It was quite the humbling experience 😉 If you like, you can read about it here…

I started the week off with a bang and fizzled out by Sunday, when I saw that all my hard work resulted in a 1 pound gain overnight. ugh! So I’m essentially back to where I started. But I woke up today with new determination and am clinging to Rom 8:12. I am also reading “Made to Crave”. And I’m happy to report that I resisted the kid’s pan of brownies today! I’m asking for prayer to be released from emotional eating. (I am currently looking for work and it has been stressful.) I will be praying for all my glo sisters as well. Have a great week 2 everyone!

So, I’m looking forward to some real organization again & COMMITED exercise schedule!!!! I’ll be using treadmill for walking & jogging & I have a cool stationary & a ab-back………I’ll be starting this Monday. (;-)
Congrats on tha 2# You Glo girl.

Hey Ladies, I Need Your Prayers, Please!. I started my calorie counting, exercising, quite time and Bible study. I lost 2lbs Praise God! However, I am a Breast Cancer Survivor (3 years) and went to my Oncologist for my 6 month check up last week. My Blood work came back low Platelets. So I had to go back and redo labs again last Friday, they were lower than the week before. I lost my Brother 2 years ago from Leukemia, so when she told me she was going to test me for Leukemia, I was scared. I have been in prayer all weekend, and my Church family too has been praying for me. I went today and Praises be to God, I do not have Leukemia. However she has started me on Prednisone to build my platelets. And as many of you know, Prednisone makes you want to EAT. My PRAYER REQUEST is that I can stay on track with this program and that the Prednisone works to build my Platelets up, if they don’t then she will have to do Bone Marrow Biopsy. Thank You my Sisters!!

I may have possibly dropped a pound. My scale seems to be fluctuating. I didn’t do to we’ll tracking but I’ll work on that. I did implement a few walks this week which is a start. I also picked up some vitamins per Dr Oz challenge. There were 10 reasonable lifestyle changes I’ve been able to stick with. I really do need to get my health and weight managed(Lord help me). I appreciate the grocery staple suggestions. I’m hooked on flavored coffee creamer and I’ve been using agave and have tried the Splenda blend recently (not too sure about the artificial sweeteners)
