Why This is The Most Important Week of Our Study

DIS Online Study Week 7 Template Final

We’ve come to the final week in our Are You a Disciple? online study, and it is The Most Important Week of all. Come sit with me on the porch, and I’ll share a story to explain why. See you on the porch!

Grand Prize Drawing Wed., Nov. 25!

On Wednesday, Nov. 25th  I will announce the winner of our Are You a Disciple? Grand Prize Perfect Attendance Drawing (I know I said Tuesday the 24th last week, but I’m changing it to give you one extra day to post your comment to this week’s discussion). The winner will receive: a $250 shopping spree on Priority’s online store!

To enter this drawing, post a comment to one or more of the discussion questions in all 8 of the Are You a Disciple? online study posts.

Important: If you’ve fallen behind in posting your comments to our discussion, you can still catch up and be entered in the drawing. And to help you do just that, I’m giving you the links to each of the Are You a Disciple? online study posts:

  • Introductory Week
  • Week 1
  • Week 2
  • Week 3
  • Week 4
  • Week 5
  • Week 6
  • Week 7 (this post)

NOTE: Be sure to post your comments by midnight Tuesday, Nov. 24th, since the winner of our Grand Prize Drawing will be announced on Wednesday. Bless you!

Week 7 Discussion Question:

Because this is our last discussion week together (and because I’m pretty sure that you’re probably in full-out holiday prep mode like I am), I’ll keep our discussion super simple. When you are ready to discuss what you studied in your Week 7 homework, please post your comment to this question:

  • What are the top 3 things Jesus has taught you through this study? Feel free to pull your answers from your Day 4 & 5 homework.

I can hardly wait for this discussion to begin and to hear what He has taught you!

Our Assignment This Week:

  1. If you ordered the Are You a Disciple? downloadable videos, watch the Week 7 video and fill in the listening guide on p. 171 in your workbook. If you didn’t purchase the videos, but you’d like to watch this week’s video, click here.
  2. Complete the Week 7 homework which we will discuss by midnight Tuesday, Nov. 24th.

Precious sister, as I told you in the video, I truly believe this is The Most Important Week of your study. As you complete your final week of homework, please know of my love, prayers, and gratitude for your desire and discipline to become a disciple and to make disciples!

Your sister,

LaurieSig

Believe in Jesus Christ, Follow Him and teach others to do the same! It sounds so simple but it is really profound. I love this study because I feel like I have been put back on my trolley tracks. Aligned and ready to roll with purpose. My faith is rock solid but thru this study I could see where my purpose- God’s purpose for my life- to teach others to show others, to share with others the good news sometimes falters. I need to be purposeful daily to whom I disciple. I havent been. My prayers have changed in the morning….I prepare my heart and voice for those that I will meet during the day. I prepare to give an answer for my joy and a helping hand or smile to strangers. I have also been praying for those few women whom my discipling will be more focused. Women that God has placed on my heart that need encouragement on their walk with Christ. i love the thought of Priscilla, of striving to be a Priscilla. Bold for our creator, sharing our fruits and teaching others to live with the peace of Christ that passes all understanding!! thank you Laurie- You are a true Priscilla!

I fell like living for Jesus is a daily cross bearing obedience calling to follow Him. I choose to read His word to get filled with His power through His word and choosing to obey God rather than my flesh. It’s easy to say but to STOP and listen to Him instead of reacting with my flesh is where I have been growing through this study.

Thank you so much Laurie for your commitment to write women’s bible studies! I have done your temple bible study, beauty by the book and now this one! I love it and am so thankful you obeyed God and wrote this study. It’s what we all need today, to study and live and know the GOSPEL! It is beautifully written and very convicting! I can’t wait to do it with my women this spring.
In Jan. I will start your beauty by the book for teens with a group of girls I have been discipling that I call Gods Girls! I am encouraging them to invite their non saved friends! We already have 10 girls signed up!

May God richly bless you and cause His face to shine upon you!

Laurie, I love the verses you compiled on page 160 concerning the rewards of discipleship. I now particularly love Matt 10:42, “And whoever in the name of a disciple gives to one of these little ones even a cup of cold water to drink, truly I say to you he shall not lose his reward.” We may think that it’s not much, but even when we do the smallest thing for the least person, because they are a follower of Jesus, we will be rewarded. This is how precious it is to God. We don’t have to accomplish HUGE feats!

Because of the above truth, I will try to remember to look at even the most “mundane” things God gives me to do as pleasing to Him because NOTHING is mundane to God.

Also, some of the most obvious truths in Scripture can be overlooked. God reminded me, in a fresh way, that my Savior, Lord, and Friend is also my Creator. Jesus was there in the beginning, with the Father and the Spirit, creating everything (John 1:1-3). It’s mind-boggling that the Creator of EVERYTHING, would pay such intimate attention to us when we talk to Him and actually speak to us in return. I know this is an elementary truth but I don’t ever want to take it for granted again!

THANK YOU, Laurie, for this Bible study (and the One Year Bible and the workbook)! God has used this study to encourage me to keep seizing the small opportunities He puts in front of me to disciple others. I’m looking forward to going back and doing the weeks I missed when I didn’t have the workbook.

I must add that it was a pleasure getting to know a little bit about all my sisters in Christ. I was encouraged and strengthened by every one of you!

Through this study I have learned how the Lord wants me to pray more and seek His guidance even more in my life. I have also been greatly blessed by reading John 15:1-8. This passage has reminded me how important abiding in Jesus is and how bearing fruit is so important. One lady that I have read about and has truly blessed my life is Priscilla. I have heard the story of Priscilla and Aquilla quite a bit in my life and after Laurie talked about her in the introduction I have an entire new perspective. The Lord used Laurie’s message on Priscilla to show me how much I have the opportunity to be a Priscilla and how through Him I can do just that.

Thank you so much Laurie for letting the Lord lead you to write this Bible study. I have been so blessed by this study and by my sisters in Christ.
